Test Automation Developer

Job Title #2 : Test Automation Developer : Position description: This Test Automation Developer position will automate a wide range of testing types for STS network management tools (Front-end and Backend) and applications including but no limited to: acceptance, functional, regression, stress, performance testing. Duties include developing and maintaining automated scripts and functions using STS defined QA automation tools. This position also requires understanding high level test plan and requirements, executing test scripts, analyzing results and detecting errors using defined Bug Tracking system, recording and reporting test results using test plan management system. This position requires interaction with software development and QA leads in a geographically distributed team environment with minimal management needed to fulfill commitments. This position is expected to participate in Quality Improvement initiatives with other team members Skill set requirements General/soft skills - - Strong communication skills. Ability to share information and communicates clearly to team members. - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in a geographically distributed team environment - Ability to multi-task and drive critical tasks to completion with little supervision. - Promotes cooperation between team members. - Exercises judgment within defined standards and consults with management. - Ability to learn new technology. Technical skills - Required: - BSEE/CS/CE with -3-5 years related experience - Development Experience in Java (at least 2 years industry experience) - Experience with java based API/Unit testing: JUnit/HTTPUnit - Experience with following OS: Windows2000/2003/XP, Solaris/Linux -Test automation experience in common automation tools: Winrunner / Silk / QTP / XDE - Web Servers, database knowledge (oracle or Sybase, SQL) - Strong understanding of web technologies.
