Requirement : Job Title #1 : Software QA Engineer: Position description: This Software QA engineer position will perform a wide range of testing on STS network management tools (Front-end and Backend) and applications including but not limited to: acceptance, functional, regression, stress and performance testing. Duties include writing test cases based on high level test plan and requirements, executing test cases, analyzing results and detecting errors using defined Bug Tracking system, recording and reporting test results using test plan management system. Though routine manual testing is required, emphasis is on automating test cases where possible. Test case automation, based on STS QA automation model and strategy, will become the foundation to perform regression testing of future product releases. This position requires interaction with development and support teams in a geographically distributed team environment with minimal management needed to fulfill commitments. This position is expected to participate in Quality Improvement initiatives with other team members Skill set requirements General/soft skills - - Strong communication skills. Technical skills Required: - BSEE/CS/CE with -3-5 years related experience - QA experience in testing Web applications: frontend and backend (manual and automated) and understanding QA methodology and software development life cycle. - Programming experience (1 year industry experience in Java or C++ preferable). - Test scripting experience - Experience with following OS: Windows-2000/2003/XP, Solaris/Linux - Experience in writing test plans and test cases. - Web Servers, database knowledge (oracle or Sybase, SQL). Good to have - Networking knowledge and experience (CCNA preferred). - Test automation experience. - Experience in Perl, PL/SQL and other scripting languages. - In-depth understanding of tools, techniques and knowledge of current industry test techniques, strategies and processes.
