Oracle DBA / Sybase DBA Number of Positions opened – Multiple openings Job Description: Be part of a DBA team that provides 24x7 production support for the client's mission critical database environment spread across the globe. The responsibilities are: Work in shift basis as per the agreed shift schedule covering normal day shifts, night shifts and weekend shifts. Address day-to-day database issues in a production environment for speedy resolution. Should have knowledge in Unix operating system and Shell scripting. Resolve database outage / performance issues quickly and ensure communication of the same to affected users on time. Analyze root cause of an error situation and perform corrective action. The candidate has to be available on an on call basis at times of emergency. Ability to ensure maximum uptime and smooth functioning of assigned server/Databases are a key focus area. Process user requests received through telephone, through emails and client's event management system as per agreed service level agreement. Candidates should be from a reputed institute or university with 5 + years of experience. Must be thoroughly familiar with DBA tasks – Must have production support experience and must have worked in 24x7 support environment. Thorough understanding and ability to troubleshoot database issues in production environment is required. Must have good written and verbal English communication skill. Prior experience with US clients will be an added advantage.
