Responsibilities: The performance engineer will be responsible for measuring, detecting, and helping solving Ariba product performance and scalability problems. The candidate is expected to work withdevelopers, architects and HW platform partners to find and solve performance problems and prepare reports detailing product performance characteristics for internal and external use to drive quality of each Ariba product release Knowledge and Skills:· Bachelors Degree in Engineering or another other relevant field with 3+ years of experience · Solid command of performance test principles with skills in Java/J2EE, SQL query, and UNIX/Windows OS · Experience with a web application server stack from HTML to database Demonstrated understanding of Java VMs (garbage collection, thread handling, CPU usage of typical operations...), database (query optimization, deadlocks & contention) and OS (i/o, multiprocessor usage, thread handling) issues. · Ability to run special tools like java profilers (JProbe, HPJmeter), database profilers (SQL Query Analyzer, SQL !
