You may not know a lot about healthcare now, but you know that it's some insane percentage of the US and global economy and growing rapidly. You may know even less about back-office processing for healthcare, but you know it's a major part of the BPO industry in India, and you know that it's a problem that you could get passionate about applying technology to. Our parent company, athenahealth, offers an innovative blend of software and services that abstracts the complexity from clinical documentation and billing. Currently, we are at a critical phase of our existence where we have laid much of the groundwork for explosive growth, but whether we become a ten billion dollar market-cap company or a $300 million footnote depends on who we hire and how far they can take us. A key part of the strategy to exploit that growth opportunity is AthenaNet India. We were formed to provide technology and oversight to athenahealth's operations interests in India. AthenaHealth has over 300 operators working on its behalf today, with 200 more expected this year, unless you can automate that work first. In the US, athenahealth's mix of technology and operations has resulted in order-of-magnitude productivity growth in the past 5 years. You can help us do the same thing in Chennai. Excellence is rewarded; how far you go is really up to you. The working environment is friendly and open. The folks you'll be working with are top notch, and will probably be some of the best and brightest folks you've ever worked with regardless of where you're coming from -- Harvard/IIT/MIT grads, former professors, Rand Institute statisticians, and just plain smart people who took the road less traveled. In terms of the technology platform -- you'll likely be working on Linux with Oracle, perl, and Apache, with plenty of DHTML, CSS, and _JavaScript thrown into the mix. There will also be some C#, VB, XML and integration with commercial OCR engines. But that's not why you'd be coming here; we believe any hacker worth his/her salt can pick this stuff up in a matter of a couple of months or so. We're more interested in folks with raw talent, and a burning desire to help seed a talented team in a socially worthwhile business.
